Aside from answering Sigmund's penetrating question the way everyone else answers it, which is by saying, "Beats the Hell out of me," I'm going to take a flyer here and answer it. What the heck. You don't have to pay any attention.
What women want is an impossibility, but that's what they want. They want a man who is, emotionally, just like a woman, whilst retaining all the masculine virtues and attributes.
Well, you can't get there from here. In the courting and infatuation stage, men consciously override their brutal natures in order to woo and win the woman. Conspiratorially, the woman cooperates in this charade by feigning to admire the effects of his testosterone poisoning, whilst emphasizing in her own mind his feminine (nurturing, caring, sensitive, communicative) side--exactly the side he has turned toward her.
Neither party can keep this up for long, no matter how hard they try. The suspension of disbelief by the woman, and the acting a part on the man's, simply breaks down. When the pleasant condition of infatuation and love, and its attendant physical addiction to self-generated chemicals ceases, then the weary partners--okay, more usually just one of the partners--begin to look elsewhere for a new love affair, and the cycle begins all over again.
Overthrowing other men's desires is a quality which never maintains friendship, but makes friends become foes. And therefore let them that desire to be well though of and welcome among men, endeavor to shun this fault. For it breeds no good liking or love, but hatred and hurt. I would counsel you rather to measure your pleasures by other men's wills--where there shall come no hurt or shame of it--and therein always to do and say, more to please other men's minds and fancies than your own.
-- Il Galateo
Women, not unlike men, want to have their way. Do not thwart her desires.

In direct proportion to the woman's physical beauty, all other factors recede in importance. Inversely to her age and appearance, all other considerations become increasingly important.
Similarly, in direct proportion to the man's material wealth, all other considerations recede in importance. If the man is sufficiently wealthy, no other factor is worth consideration. Contrariwise, if the man is perceived as an economic drag on the woman, or is not a good provider, or is suffering economic reverses, the woman will discover all his faults and magnify them. If she can, she will leave him for a better provider. When you get right down to it, nothing else counts.
